Peter Paul Hubner was born in Bohemia, Austria in 1869. He married Laura Williams in Worcester, England, in 1899. By 1901 he and Laura had a son, Julius Henry Charles Hubner. In his early career, Hubner is described as Lithographic designer. By 1911 he had moved to Tufnell Park Islington, where he was living with his wife and three sons. Julius, Everard and Arthur. By that time, he is listed as Artist, Painter, and Designer.

He died on August 31, 1928, and is buried in St. Katherine’s Chuchyard, Canvey Island, England. His wife Laura lived until 1953, and was buried with him. His painting show a deep understanding of color and texture, and most of his work is defined by a still, quiet mood, at times almost haunting.
